Reps glossary, plain English.

Every acronym, slang term, and convention used in the rep buying community — defined.

Terms

1688
Wholesale arm of Alibaba — same factories as Taobao but for bulk orders. Often cheaper per item but minimum order quantities apply. Listings live at detail.1688.com/offer/<id>.html.
Agent (buying agent)
A service that buys items from Chinese marketplaces on your behalf, holds them at a warehouse, and ships internationally. Examples: CNFans, Sugargoo, Kakobuy, ACBuy. See our agent comparison.
Batch
A specific factory/run of a rep. Higher batches (PK, OG, LJR, GP) are closer to retail. Lower batches are cheaper but less accurate. Always check r/fashionreps before ordering — different batches can look very different.
CNFans
Popular buying agent, 0% service fee on Taobao. Solid choice for beginners.
DD (Daily Driver)
Items you wear regularly — basic tees, hoodies, everyday sneakers. Opposed to “grail” pieces saved for special occasions. A “DD haul” is a haul of low-stakes basics.
GL (Green Light)
Approval given to your agent after reviewing QC photos. Tells them “ship it” — the item passed inspection.
Grail
A specific item you really want — usually high-value, rare, or hard to find a good rep of.
Haul
A bundle of items shipped together to save on international shipping. “March DD haul” = a March shipment of daily-driver basics. Use our haul builder to plan one.
LC (Legit Check)
Comparing a rep against authentic retail photos to spot inaccuracies. Done before approving QC.
PSP
Post-Shipping Pictures — photos buyers post after receiving their item. The most useful pre-purchase research, since it shows real-world condition vs. studio QC photos.
QC (Quality Check)
Photos your agent takes of an item before international shipping, so you can approve or reject. Full guide here.
Reps
Replicas — unauthorized copies of branded items, usually clothing/shoes/bags. The community uses “reps” as a neutral term, distinct from “fakes” (low-quality knockoffs).
Repspy / Repsneakers
Community wikis with batch comparisons, seller recommendations, and W2C threads. r/fashionreps and r/RepLadies are the main subreddits.
RL (Red Light)
Rejecting a QC and asking the agent to return or replace the item. Used when there's a major flaw — wrong size, wrong colorway, structural defects.
RL'd
Past-tense of RL. “I had to RL the hoodie” = “I rejected the QC and got a refund/replacement.”
Seller
The Taobao/Weidian/1688 store you buy from. Different sellers have different batches, prices, and reliability — community wikis track which sellers are trustworthy for each item.
Sheet / Spreadsheet
A community-maintained Google Sheet listing trusted sellers per category. Examples: Kakobuy spreadsheet, CNFans spreadsheet.
Slug
The product ID portion of a Taobao URL — the numeric part after ?id=. Sellers post these so buyers can paste them into agents.
Taobao
China's largest consumer marketplace, owned by Alibaba. Most rep listings live here. URLs look like item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=<id>.
Tmall
Premium tier of Taobao for branded sellers. Same agent flow, slightly higher prices, more trustworthy sellers. URLs at detail.tmall.com.
W2C (Where to Cop)
“Where can I buy this?” — used when posting a photo of an item you want a rep of. Replies usually include Taobao links.
Weidian
Smaller Chinese marketplace, popular for streetwear and accessories. Some sellers run Weidian-only stores. URLs at weidian.com/item.html?itemID=<id>.

Now that you know the words…

  • Compare buying agents — fees, shipping, payment options.
  • Use the link converter to paste any Taobao URL and get every agent's version.
  • Plan a multi-item haul with the haul builder — see total landed cost before you commit.
